Itinerary

Day 1DELHI – MANALI (570 KM/ 12-14 Hours)

Report at Delhi Volvo pick up point (on your own) till 8:00 PM. Start overnight journey by Volvo to Manali.

Day 2MANALI SIGHTSEEING

Reach Manali in morning & get transferred to hotel (Check in & check out Time as per Hotel Policies & early Check In is subject to availability). After rest & freshens up till 02:00 PM go for half day city tour of Manali which includes – Visit Hadimba Devi Temple (This temple constructed in 1553 A.D. is Dedicated to Mata Hadimba, Himachal’s Most Significant Deity), Vashisht Village & Hot water springs (Dedicated to Vashisht Muni & well known for its hot Curable water) and Tibetan Monastery in Market. In evening explore the Mall Road & IBEX Market of Manali. Stay overnight after dinner in reserved hotel.

Day 3MANALI – CHANDERTAAL

Post breakfast, check out from the hotel & proceed further towards Chandertaal. On the way take halT at Batal & Chhatru. On arrival, check into the camp. Have dinner & overnight stay.

Day 4CHANDERTAAL – KAZA

After breakfast leave for Kaza crossing Kunzum Pass (4558 m). Enroute also drive past some villages of Spiti valley like Losar, Hal and Ragrik. On arrival in Kaza, check in at hotel. Have dinner & overnight stay.

Day 5KAZA SIGHTSEEING

Spend the day discovering the spiritual and natural wonders around Kaza, the heart of Spiti Valley:

  • Key Monastery (Ki Gompa): Begin your day by visiting this iconic 11th-century monastery, perched dramatically on a hilltop. It’s the largest monastery in Spiti and offers panoramic views of the valley below.

  • Kibber Village: Just a short drive from Key Monastery, this is one of the highest inhabited villages in the world with motorable roads. Explore the village and admire its traditional stone houses.

  • Chicham Bridge: A little ahead of Kibber, visit Asia’s highest suspension bridge — a thrilling experience with spectacular mountain views.

  • Hikkim: Home to the world’s highest post office, where you can send postcards to your loved ones from the top of the world.

  • Komic Village: One of the highest villages in the world connected by a motorable road, it houses the ancient Tangyud Monastery, believed to be over 500 years old.

  • Langza Village: Known for its gigantic Buddha statue overlooking the valley and for the ancient marine fossils found here, reminding visitors that this region was once under the Tethys Sea.

Return to Kaza by evening after a fulfilling day of high-altitude exploration. Overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 6KAZA – DHANKAR – TABO

Start your day from Kaza, the cultural and administrative capital of Spiti Valley. Drive towards Dhankar, a historic village known for the Dhankar Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff overlooking the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers. The monastery, which once served as a royal fort, offers panoramic views and insights into ancient Buddhist practices. Adventure enthusiasts may also take a short trek to Dhankar Lake, nestled quietly above the monastery.

After exploring Dhankar, continue your journey to Tabo, home to the Tabo Monastery, one of the oldest operating Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayas, founded in 996 AD. Tabo is often referred to as the “Ajanta of the Himalayas” due to its ancient murals, frescoes, and stucco sculptures. The spiritual atmosphere and architectural richness make it a key stop in Spiti.

Day 8TABO – SISSU

The journey from Tabo to Sissu is one of the most spectacular drives through the high-altitude desert and into the greener Lahaul Valley. Drive towards Kunzum La Pass (15,000+ ft) — one of the highest motorable passes in the region. It offers panoramic views of the Chandrabhaga Range and leads you into Lahaul Valley driving through Batal, Chhatru, and Gramphu before entering Sissu, a charming village in Lahaul known for its waterfall, riverside views, and scenic beauty. On arrival have dinner & night stay in the hotel.

Day 9SISSU – SOLANG VALLEY – MANALI – DELHI (BY VOLVO)

After breakfast, drive towards Manali via the engineering marvel — the Atal Tunnel, one of the longest highway tunnels in the world. The tunnel drastically reduces travel time and bypasses the high-altitude Rohtang Pass, making the journey smooth and scenic.

As you pass through the tunnel, notice the dramatic shift in landscape — from the cold desert-like terrain of Lahaul to the pine-covered slopes and bustling vibe of Manali. On arrival in Manali, you’ll be dropped at Volvo stand for further journey towards Delhi
